Business Studies

Students who choose this option will study a GCSE in Business and Communication Systems.

As consumers and citizens we are all in frequent communication with business organisations and in today's high speed world of work, most business employees are required to communicate with us and between themselves using ICT systems. Many employees are also responsible for creating their own messages and for choosing the methods and technologies used to create them. 

This course will allow students:

• study the many methods of communication used in business situations, develop an understanding the points of view of different stakeholders within a business and learn why they act in the way that they do
• develop as an independent learner with strong critical thinking skills and an enquiring mind
• develop and apply their knowledge, understanding and skills to a range of issues
• develop a wide range of communication skills using MS Office-based software
